Application for Level 2 Vetting & Access

If you wish to pursue professional registration, attend any training courses or avail yourself of any of the means by which the Institute supports serving and aspiring intelligence personnel, you must first apply for access to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). This is accompanied by at least a provisional academic membership free of charge and without obligation so that you can log-in to the site and register for training and benefits directly. Note that academic membership is exclusively for individuals. Organisations seeking corporate contracts and groups looking to enrol multiple delegates should not apply via this form but make enquiries directly with the head of the training and directing staff.

In the absence of a security clearance at the restricted (R), confidential (C), secret (S) or top secret (TS) level, an equivalent enhanced security investigation, written authority at the UN ASG, NATO OF-6 or EU DDG level, you will be asked to provide details of your recent employement, academic qualifications and professional memberships in the application form below. You may not anonymise this application as personal data is required for security vetting purposes. However, you must not send sensitive information over the internet. So, if your application is particularly sensitive, please contact the head of the training and directing staff to arrange an application by other channels.

As a part of your compulsory Intelligence Security (INTSEC) course, you will also be required to submit scanned copies of police letters of good conduct for every country you have resided in for more than 6 months in the last 5 years. You can obtain a police letter of good conduct from your local police station or the embassy of the relevant country wherever you are located. Please note that you will not be required to account for any period of time under the age of 18, when a ward of the state or when such a disclosure might divulge matters subject to legal privilege and all information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
